Introduction
From time to time, data will be cached in your browser, and you will need to force a refresh. The diagram below outlines the shortcuts to Clear Cache on both Mac OS and Windows platforms. If the short cut doesn't work you can refer to the steps given below for various platforms in Mac OS and Windows.
Note:
The keyboard shortcuts mentioned here are for Windows. On Mac OS, replace Ctrl with Command.
The steps may vary slightly based on the browser version and OS version.
Clearing your cache will log you out of some websites, and some data like saved passwords might be deleted as well.
Clearing the cache can improve performance and resolve certain issues, but be cautious as it might also delete useful data.
Windows:
Google Chrome:
Step 1: Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete to open the Clear browsing data window.
Step 2: Select the time range for which you want to clear the cache.
Step 3: Check the box for Cached images and files.
Step 4: Click Clear data.
Mozilla Firefox:
Step 1: Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete to open the Clear All History window.
Step 2: Choose the time range to clear.
Step 3: Check the box for Cache.
Step 4: Click Clear Now.
Internet Explorer:
Step 1: Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete to open the Delete Browsing History window.
Step 2: Check the box for Temporary Internet files and website files.
Step 3: Click Delete.
Mac OS:
Google Chrome:
Step 1: Open the Chrome app.
Step 2: Tap the three dots in the bottom-right corner to open the menu.
Step 3: Go to Settings > Privacy > Clear Browsing Data.
Step 4: Select Cached images and files.
Step 5: Tap Clear Browsing Data.
Mozilla Firefox:
Step 1: Open the Firefox app.
Step 2: Tap the three horizontal lines to open the menu.
Step 3: Go to Settings > Data Management > Clear Private Data.
Step 4: Check the box for Cache.
Step 5: Tap Clear Private Data.
Safari:
Step 1: Open the Settings app.
Step 2: Scroll down and find Safari.
Step 3: Scroll down again and tap Clear History and Website Data.
Step 4: Confirm your choice.
