Multifactor Authentication (MFA)

Multifactor Authentication (MFA)

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

MFA is a security technology that requires multiple methods of authentication from independent categories of credentials to verify a user's identity.
Cloudoffis offers three different Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) options, giving users flexibility when it comes to securing their accounts, especially for those who may use multiple devices. The method to enable and disable MFA remains the same for all the three types.
The available MFA options are:
  1. Mobile Device App (e.g., Google Authenticator)
  2. SMS Text Message
  3. Email Authentication
Users can opt to enable one or more of these methods for added convenience and security. Setting up multiple MFA methods ensures that if one method (e.g., your mobile phone) is unavailable, you still have alternative ways to access your account securely.

MFA Set Up

Step 1: Click on Profile > My Profile.
Step 2: Click on the Multi-Factor Authentication tab.

Step 3: Choose the MFA options you want to activate: Scan QR, SMS Text, Email Authentication.

Step 4: Click on Enable and follow the next steps to complete MFA setup.
The selected MFA will then be used to confirm your authentication, along with your user password while logging in once MFA Setup has successfully completed.

Disable MFA

Step 1: Click on Profile > My Profile.

Step 2: Go to the Multi-Factor Authentication tab.
Step 3: Click the Disable button for the MFA option you wish to turn off.

Step 4: Once again, click on Disable from the appearing pop-up to confirm your action.
The relevant option will then change to having an Enable button, rather than Disable.

Notes
If you have more than one method enabled, e.g., Text and email, you will receive different codes for each method. Either code will be valid for three minutes after the receipt. If you are using an authenticator app, the expiry period for codes is shorter depending on the app used.
