Can I Delete a Job After Submitting it to the Auditor?
If you have already submitted the job to the auditor and you want to delete the job for some reason, below are the actions that you can take.
Instead of Deleting the job, you have an option to Cancel Audit Submission. You will be able to only cancel the Audit Submission if the auditor has not Created the Job yet. If you want to Delete all the Jobs of a Fund, you have an option to Delete the Fund. This action will delete all the jobs of that fund, however, you can reactivate the fund again. Also, you will be only able to Delete a fund if any of the jobs of that fund is not in open stage.
Our firm has just taken over another Class practice, but they aren't currently using SMSF Sorted. Can I import the new clients into SMSF Sorted?
Yes, you can. As long as your Class login has access to both businesses, you can import clients from the new practice by following the same steps as before. Refer to the linked article - Importing Clients
Can a year for a job created in SMSF Sorted be changed?
- No, the job year cannot be changed once it’s created in SMSF Sorted.
- Make sure to double-check the financial year when creating a new job to avoid this issue.

Why I can't select Peer Review as an option when I update the status of a job.
- The Peer Review status will only be available if both of the following conditions are met:
- Your business is connected to an External Accountant and
- The job belongs to the external party (i.e., it was created by the connected Accountant).
If both conditions aren’t met, the Peer Review option will not be available when updating the job status.
Fund data won't import from Class
If you're unable to import fund data from Class, please check the following:
- Ensure the Fund Period Update has been run in Class.
- Confirm that the fund has not been suspended or deleted in Class.
- Yes, comments made on the PDF Sorted File are sent to the auditor as part of the file generated before the job is submitted to Audit.
- However, if comments are added after the job has been submitted, they will not be available to the auditor. In that case, any additional comments should be provided as part of a response to a query raised by the auditor.
Can I add password-protected PDFs to SMSF Sorted?
- No, SMSF Sorted does not currently support uploading password-protected PDF files.
- If you attempt to upload one, a message will be displayed informing you that the file is protected.
- To proceed, you’ll need to remove the password protection, then upload the file again.
Note: Once the file is uploaded, you can mark it as Private within SMSF Sorted for added confidentiality.
