Identifying Internal and External Jobs

Identifying Internal and External Jobs

Introduction

In SMSF Auditomation, jobs can either be created internally by your team or submitted externally by accountants using SMSF Sorted. It’s important to know the difference, as each type follows a slightly different process.

Identifying Internal and External Jobs

Internal Jobs

  1. Internal Jobs are audit jobs created by importing funds directly from accounting software within Auditomation (from the Manage Funds page).
  2. They can be identified from the Audit > Manage Jobs Audit Jobs Queue page by checking the Source column - Internal Jobs will display only the accounting software’s logo.

Processing Internal Job includes the below steps

Step 1: Importing Funds from the accounting softwares or adding them Manually.
  1. Importing Funds from Class
  2. Importing Funds from BGL360
  3. Importing Funds from Supermate
  4. Manual Fund Upload
Step 2: Creating Job

Notes
Note: Your license will be consumed and you will be charged after you process the audit job even if you choose to Delete it.

External Jobs

  1. External Jobs are audit jobs that are submitted by accountants using SMSF Sorted. These jobs are pushed into Auditomation from the accountant’s end.
  2. They can be identified from the Audit > Manage Jobs Audit Jobs Queue page by checking the Source column - External job will have the presence of both the SMSF Sorted logo and the accounting software logo(used by the accountant to import fund in SMSF Sorted).

Processing External Job includes the below steps

Note: Your license will be consumed and you will be charged after you process the audit job even if you choose to Delete it.

Notes
Note:
  1. You cannot create a job for the Same Fund and Financial Year both internally and externally. A job can only be created either internally or externally, not both.
  2. If you've already created and processed the job internally, the documents that were included in the job submitted by the accountant via SMSF Sorted will not be included. In such cases, you may choose to delete the internally created job and proceed with the one submitted by the accountant or manually upload the documents. However,  please note that deleting a job after it has been processed will still consume a license.
